Activities!!

Meetings – The club meets every 3rd Tuesday of the month at 7:30pm. There is a short business meeting and a 30 minute program. The normal meeting location for 2010 will again be Logan's Roadhouse in Lewisville, TX.  Click here for next next meeting info.  The programs are all about Dobermans(!) and range in topics from health information to Search & Rescue.  Check out some of our plans for upcoming programs! Email the club secretary, Beth Athey to let us know you’re coming and to also confirm the location (as we do a few special events at different locations during the year)!

Conformation Shows - The club holds an AKC-licensed show with conformation, obedience and now Rally twice a year. Our first show was held on November 17, 1957.  Our next show will be in March 25, 2011 in Fort Worth, Texas.  Contact Show Chairman, Dina Sellers for more information regarding the show.

National Specialty - Information for the 2010 National Specialty will be posted soon.

Educational Seminars  DPCD hosts AKC Obedience and Rally Judging Seminar every three years.  Our next planned seminar will be in April 2012.  Click here for the information flyer!

Brags – We love to brag on our dogs' accomplishments!!  If you have a new brag, please send it to Julie.

Newsletters - A monthly newsletter for members or prospective members is published.  It contains the minutes from the last meeting, a letter from the President, list of upcoming activities, and usually a grooming hint or two!  If you would like to receive a copy of our newsletter, contact Beth Athey.

WAE – The club sponsors a Working Aptitude Evaluation test every year.  Start training your dogs now.  The next WAE testing date is Saturday, May 19, 2012 at North Lakes Park in Denton, TX.  Contact our WAE Chariman, Julie for more information.

Rescue – The DPCD actively supports the Doberman Rescue of North Texas (DRNT).  DRNT rescues unwanted Dobermans who have been abandoned at local animal shelters. The dogs get medical attention and lots of TLC from the volunteers while prospective adopters are evaluated.  Please see their website for more information.

Individual Activities - Many of our members participate with their dogs in obedience, agility, flyball, tracking and many other activities.  Click here to see some of our dogs in action!
